Part Time Jobs Banks located in the same community as the university may decide to provide part-time internship(s) where the student continues full-time course work while working in the bank for 10-20 hours per week.
Summer Internships Full-time summer positions are popular with students and may also work well for bank employers. NMSU students are generally available for employment from mid-May through the first week of August.
Co-op Positions Banks may also consider offering "co-op" internships that allow students to keep their full-time student status while working full-time during a full semester or even longer periods of time. Co-ops can run as long as 7 months (typically January through July or June through December), and require a formal contract with the university that the intern attends. This contractual agreement allows the student to retain their full-time student status during the work-phase of the co-op, thus preserving financial aid and student insurance. To create a co-op arrangement with NMSU, please contact the NMSU Career Services office at (575) 646-1631 or email hireNMSU@nmsu.edu.
